अहो Sumit, तुम्ही कधी विचार केला आहे का की तुमचं ear किती smart आहे? [short pause] ते एका बास्केटबॉल कोर्टपेक्षा जास्त complex आहे पण तुमच्या डोक्याच्या बाजूला लपलं आहे.
हे बघा — ear फक्त एका funnel सारखं नाही. त्यात तीन layers आहेत — outer, middle, inner. आणि प्रत्येकाचं एक खास काम आहे.
पहिलं — outer ear. हा एक satellite dish सारखा आहे. तो sound waves गोळा करतो आणि ear canal मध्ये पाठवतो. [laughing] जसं तुम्ही pizza order करता तसं — तो आवाजाला पकडतो.
आता middle ear — इथे तीन छोटी हाडं आहेत — malleus, incus, stapes. [short pause] ही हाडं एका hammer, anvil, आणि stirrup सारखी vibrate करतात.
आणि inner ear — इथे cochlea नावाचा एक snail-shaped organ आहे. तो vibrations ला electrical signals मध्ये बदलतो. [long pause] मग ते signals brain ला जातात — आणि तुम्हाला आवाज ऐकू येतो.
हे बघा — ear drum फक्त 0.1mm जाड आहे. पण ते एका drum सारखं vibrate करतं. [laughing] तुमच्या डोक्यात एक mini concert चालू आहे.
आणि हे सगळं एका second मध्ये होतं. [short pause] तुम्ही 'hello' म्हणता — आणि तुमचं ear ते decode करून brain ला पाठवतं.
तर Sumit, ear फक्त एक organ नाही — तो एक supercomputer आहे जो तुमच्या डोक्याच्या बाजूला बसला आहे. [laughing] आणि तो कधीच ब्रेक घेत नाही.
